If Your Tax Bill is Higher Than You Can Afford, What Should You Do
If Your Tax Bill is Higher Than You Can Afford, What Should You Do If Your Tax Bill is Higher Than You Can Afford, What Should You Do? If Your Tax Bill is Higher Than You Can Afford, What Should You Do?Tax evasion isnt a good look on you. Luckily, you have plenty of options to help you pay off a larger than expected tax bill!Having trouble paying your taxes? Youâre not alone! Many famous celebrities have been in similar situations. Also many regular people. So you shouldnât be embarrassed if youâre struggling to pay your taxes. In fact, you shouldnât keep it a secret. Because thatâs a good way to find yourself in some serious legal trouble. Just ask Al Capone. Oh wait, you canât. Because he didnât pay his taxes. (And also heâs dead.)But you canât just pay a tax bill with money you donât have. And many law enforcement agencies frown upon planning an elaborate heist to rob the vaults of a casino, no matter how crooked those casino owners are. This year, above all other, people are experiencing larger tax bills (and smaller refunds) than they expected. So what can you do if your tax bill is too big to pay? Thankfully youâve got some options! Dont. Ignore it.When faced with a tax bill too high to pay, your first impulse may be to hide behind your couch and pretend you never saw it. If you canât see the IRS, they canât see you, right?Wrong! This is an understandable impulse, but not a correct one. Ignoring your taxes will only lead to greater troubles.âIf you currently owe the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) income taxes in an amount more than you can pay, there are a series of procedures to assist struggling taxpayers with resolving their outstanding tax liabilities,â assured Steven M. Packer, an accountant with Duane Morris (@DuaneMorrisLLP).âGiven that its tax season, filing is on the mind of many, and, if tax liabilities cant be paid, an extra level of emotional and financial burden is added. However, most taxpayers are not aware of these procedures and think, mistakenly and at grave risk, that if they just ignore the problem the IRS will simply go away.Rest assured, the IRS will never go away, as they have their own set of procedures in place to ensure collection of the unpaid tax and will use its powers to collect.âDouble check your work. Before you get too panicked, figure out if your bill actually needs to be as far out of reach as it seems to be.âMake sure you recheck all your deductions and tax credits,â advised tax expert Manisha Hansraj, a marketing specialist for Rapid Filing Services (@Prior_Tax).âYou can call us for free help or look at many resources available based on your specific tax situation to see if you qualify for deductions and credits, whether it be itemization or education credits.Weâve also got a recent article that might help you find some other ways to reduce your tax burden. Just saying.Get ahold of yourself (and the collection process). If youâve gone back over your taxes looking for other deductions and credits to take advantage of and thereâs still a gap between what you can pay and what you need to pay , then youâll want to reach out to the IRS as soon as possible. A good first step is preventing collection to give yourself some room to maneuver.âPrior to the determination of which resolution option is most appropriate under the circumstances, a collection hold should be requested to gain time to review the situation,â explained Packer. If you agree that you owe the IRS, but you canât pay due to your financial situation (such as being out of work or underemployed), your account may qualify as currently not collectible. This will temporarily delay collection until your financial condition improves.âJacob Dayan, CEO of Community Tax, LLC (@communitytaxllc), offered similar advice:âOne option taxpayers have when they cannot afford to pay their taxes is to check and see if they qualify for the IRS Hardship Program,â he explained. âThis program is set in place for those who would face unfair financial hardship after the collection of outstanding taxes.Once you have bee n declared âcurrently not collectibleâ the IRS cannot garnish your wages or take your property in lieu of tax payment. The IRS will work with you to sort out an alternative repayment plan in order to clear your name off the IRS delinquent tax list. There are several specific qualifications you must meet in order to qualify, however.âNow you can focus on making a deal.Working it out.So about that payment planâIf you owe the IRS, a payment plan is the best way to go in order to arrange a fair amount of time to pay,â suggested Vincenzo Villamena, managing partner of the CPA firm, Global Expat Advisors. âYou can go online and do so if you owe under $50,000 USD.âThis allows you to pick the amount of monthly payments you would like to make. If over the $50k, then one would need to fill out a full 433F which asks about assets, income, and monthly expenses. The IRS will determine what one can pay based on this information. Its important to note in both situations that interest a nd some penalties will continue to accumulate while on a payment plan.âAnd then thereâs always settling.âThe OIC program permits qualified taxpayers with outstanding and unpaid tax liabilities to negotiate a full settlement for an amount that is less than the tax owed,â advised Packer. And going forward, be sure to try and get your taxes done as early as possible so youâll know if you need to pursue options like these. Now that youâve reached the end of this post, youâll know not to panic if you might be a bit short of what you need. And donât just hope the IRS will forget about youâ"because they wonât. Sorry.Whatever you do, make a plan. The one thing you really shouldnt do with a higher-than-expected tax bill is just wing itespecially if doing so involves taking out additional debt in order to pay what you owe. That plan could leave you with no savings and extra debt: a recipe for financial disaster. After all, its that kind of short-sighted thinking that leads to p eople relying on predatory no credit check loans and short-term bad credit loans like payday loans, title loans, and cash advances when a surprise bill or other financial shortfall rears its ugly head. And while were all about choosing affordable installment loans over short-term cash advances here Financial Sense, taking out any kind of personal loan to pay off your tax debt is not a good plan.Maintaining a well-stocked emergency fund is a great way to cover something like an unexpectedly large tax bill. But even folks without one can still dig their way out if they face the problem head-on instead of running from it. Excess Fluid Problem Medical Case Study of Mr P - 811 Words
Case Study #2 Mr. Pââ¬â¢s problem is excess fluid volume; he needs to remain free of edema, moist crackles throughout lung fields, and labored breathing as soon as possible. Mr. P should be assessed for abnormal heart and lung sounds as well as blood pressure and pulse. He will also need to be given oxygen. There must be close monitoring of his intake as well as output noting signs showing decreasing urine output in relation to overload. It is important to measure these trends because Mr. P has fluid volume overload (Ackley et al., 2008). In addition, there will be provision of a restricted diet as appropriate. IM Black and IM Proud - 864 Words
Black History speech: I m Black and I m Proud As we come to the close of another black History Month, we have been reflecting upon our heritage. Upon such people as Chrispus Atticks, Harriet Tubman, Fredrick Douglas, George Washington Culver, Dr. Charles Drew, Thurgood Marshal, Malcolm X, and of course Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and many, many more. And as we remember and review these names we realize that in any other society this would be a great list of historical figures. But being in the society that we are in, our contributions have been, to say the least, SUPPRESSED. So therefore we have to acknowledge our own, since history will not acknowledge us we choose to acknowledge ourselves. And then we as a people, were brought to America and we carried the cross of slavery, and then after slavery was abolished, we carried the cross of prejudice and segregation, and believe it or not, we are still carrying that cross today. However all is not gloom and doom, all is not lost, because you see my brothers and sisters, we are one of the few people who realize that GREATER IS HE, THAT IS IN US, THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD. Healthcare Facilities Free Essays
Research the websites of two competitors and assess the effectiveness of their online presence. Identify specific areas where those websites are superior to yours whether in form or function. Also identify areas where your own website is superior. We will write a custom essay sample on Healthcare Facilities or any similar topic only for you Order Now In searching the Web for the only two competitors in the community in which our organization serves, it was interesting to learn that neither had a website. When searching for Desoto Healthcare Center website, web-surfers are led to a blue page that flashes the message ââ¬Å"This site is currently under constructionâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ (desotohealth. com. 2013). This for profit nursing home, located nearest the only Hospital in the community, is a 120-bed center with no apparent online presence. Landmark of Desoto, another competitor, is a 60-bed non-profit nursing home with no online presence nor is there any sign of a website to come. Therefore, when compared to other Skilled Nursing Facilities in the area, it is safe to say that Golden Living Centerââ¬â¢s website is in fact superior to the competition in both form and function. Research the websites of one supplier and one client. Evaluate the effectiveness of each website as it relates to their association with your organization. Identify specific areas where those websites could better serve your needs. In the Nursing Home sector of Healthcare, many of the suppliers are also the clients. Sta Home Health and Hospice serves as both a supplier and a client to our organization. Sta-Homeââ¬â¢s website effectively allows us to refer potential patients to them directly through a link on the site offering us the opportunity to save time from having to make a phone call, leave a message, or provide needed information to someone who may not deliver it to the proper person or location. The website includes a ââ¬Å"Helpful Resourcesâ⬠tab where patients can obtain information on diseases, treatments, tests and procedures, and many other resources. This tab, however, does not offer any information regarding the services offered by my organization. If a Sta Home patient or family were seeking assistance with finding a skilled nursing facility in the area this site would be of no help to them, nor would help my organization with gaining a new referral or potential resident. Identify a journal or publication specific to your industry. Evaluate the overall value that reading such a journal brings to your knowledge of your organizationââ¬â¢s performance. In reading the Long Term Living publication I learned valuable information about the performance of my organization. While reading an article on the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services I discovered clarification on new guidelines to laundry regulations for nursing facilities. These guidelines have not yet been implemented in my facility and failure to do so would result in receiving an F tag on the Annual State Survey (Pamela Tabar, 2013). My continued reading introduced me to new products on the market that would allow for better monitoring of the residents and patients in our care. With a wristwatch appearance, The Trilock personal locator functions as both a tracking and communications device and offers a perimeter management setting that would alert caregivers when the wearer is near the set area (Tabar, 2013). For my organization, this would serve as another safety measure and allow for added patient/resident security. As I read through this online publication, I found information that is vital to both patient care and overall operations of our organization. Some of this information had not been communicated to our facility and could cause potential service issues or even result in a failing score on CMS review. This gives me insight that there is a possible breakdown in our organizations performance as it relates to communications from the top down. References Desoto Healthcare Center. 2013. William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare wrote the play, Macbeth. First published in 1603, the true elements of this plot give it more of an interesting theme. This play deals with the conflicts of power and fear. Macbeth is a story about the consequences of greed and success. At the beginning of the play, three witches give somewhat of a narration about the up coming events that are about to take place in the story. Macbeth has just come back from war and has been greeted by the king of Scotland, Donalbain. Due to his bravery while away at war, the king prepares a special welcoming in his honor. The depression had enormous market implications: social, economic and political. In order to understand the implications of the global depression crisis, it is imperative to review the crisis causes. This essay reviews on the economic and political causes ofà the crisis and their subsequent implications. Economically, the crisis onset was in 1929 characterized by the Wall Street collapse. At this time, the economy purchasing power was failing as money supply decreased. Initially, there was speculation on the eminent Wall Street collapse. At this time, the USA government resulted to financial measures aimed at reducing this influence. In this case, the federal government sought to reduce money supply in the economy through increased interest rates. This aimed at establishing avenues to reduce the increased money supply in the market. However, this process failed in the long run as the money supply continuously fell (Rosen, 2005). The Federal Reserve Bank, the central bank in America failed to institute mechanisms to reduce this crisis. Consequently, this led to theà reducedà money supply in the economy resulting inà the great depression. Reduced money supply in the market reduced the economyââ¬â¢s ability to purchase products. Politically, Rosen (2005) stated that the protectionism approach and regulations played a significant role in the emergence and escalation of the global recession crisis. In this regard, global economies such as Europeanà markets developed strategies to regulate against increased importation into the markets. This sought to remedy the European market overproduction rates. Similarly, in order to protect the American multinational companies; the government in 1930 instituted the Smoot-Hawley Tariff. The tariff instituted high taxation rates for imports in the Unites States. In this regard, the strategy sought to limit importation into the economy. This was a strategy to mitigate against the increased overproduction in the economy. As such, the government sought to establish the structureà through which to reduce on the implications of increased overproduction in the economy. However, although this reduced instances of over production in the economy, it led to reduced international trade. Consequently, this reduced foreign exchange in the global markets. This trend was not only in the USAà but also in countries across the global economy. Increased tariffs and importation restrictions resulted to reduced international trade. As a result, economies were subjected to decreased foreign exchange. This implicated on the overall currency purchasing powers in the economy as currencies lost their value in the global market. International trade plays a significant role in enhancing increased currency purchasing through the development of balanced and favorable terms of trade. Through the establishment of favorable terms of trade, economies currencies increase their purchasing power enhancing increased spending and consumption levels in an economy. Reduction on the trade resulted inà reduced spending further reducing money supply in the market, thus propagating the global Great Depression crisis. The reduction in theà importationà and international trade rates resulted inà increased unemployment rates. The international trade distribution channels proved increased employment opportunities. Therefore, its collapse led to increased unemployment. Further, the trade allowed for increased government revenues through levied taxes and tariffs. To this effect, its reduction resulted to decreased government revenues. A combination of these factors reduced earnings and government spending in the economy. Consequently, the reduced international trade perpetuated reduced money supply in the global market. The global depression crisis emergence was because of reduced money supply in the market. An additional cause for the escalation of the global recession crisis was the existence of small and numerous banks. In this regard, the banks lacked enough capital and funds to support their systems. To this effect, the collapse of Wall Street resulted in anà increased lack of confidence inà the banking industry. As a result, there emerged the cash rush. This was a process through which banking customers sought to withdraw their funds and have them in liquid cash. Due to the advance and defaulted loans, the banking industry was unable to avail all the required funds. This led to the eventual collapse of the banking industry. The banking industry is an imperative component in the global market success and functioning. Therefore, the collapse of the banking industry led to the eventual collapse of the entire global economy as the banking services that enhanced transaction success no longer functions (Rosen, 2005). Consequently, the global market failed to result in the great recession. Moreover, the global depression crisis emergence can be hedged on the political systems and obligations imposed on nations after World War I. After the war, the USA emerged as a major power due to its late entry into the war. As a result, it advanced loans and funds towards the reconstruction of global nations such as Germany. On the other hand, Germany was burdened with increased loans repayment as damages for the war. This culminated in the banking industry overspending and due to inflation, the banks considerably raised their lending rates leading to global market supply deficiency.
